About REACTA
Building a Collaborative Clinical Trial Ecosystem in Asia
The Regional Asian Clinical Trial Association (REACTA) was founded in 2013 to strengthen collaboration in clinical research across Asia. The initiative was originally spearheaded by Dr. Kim and Anthony from DonA, in partnership with Chiba University (Japan), Taipei Medical University (Taiwan), and the University of Hong Kong. At its inception, the organization was known as the Region East Asia Clinical Trial Association, reflecting its initial focus on fostering cooperation among East Asian academic institutions. As the network expanded and its strategic direction evolved, Clinical Research Malaysia (CRM) joined the alliance. In response to this broader regional engagement, the association was formally renamed as the Regional Asian Clinical Trial Association (REACTA) to better reflect its inclusive, pan-Asian mission.
Since 2025, REACTA has been composed of four leading universities and one national research institution. United by a shared vision, REACTA continues to serve as a platform for advancing knowledge exchange, promoting regulatory convergence, and facilitating multinational collaboration in clinical trials throughout the Asian region.
